This is a good little thriller, not great but well worth seeing. The story is well constructed and is well paced, the actors are very believable and the locations are excellent. The use of the creepy, isolated and dark forest setting is a nice touch. A real eye opener, even though it is set in the near future. I have a problem with the use of the word "new", which is rather misleading and the film should have been called "the future" instead. If you like good, well made, quality independent films, this is a film for you.

Greetings from Lithuania. "The Day of the Triffids" (2007) is the best movie of the year. First of all, it's one of the best movies of the year. The cast is superb. There is no bad actors, no bad directors, no bad scenes, no bad photography, no bad editing. Just perfect! For me, it is also the best film ever. The fact that it is a supernatural horror movie is not a weakness, because it is not a supernatural horror movie. It is a very good movie, and a very good movie in general. It is truly amazing. Don't listen to the haters, because this movie is not a movie, it is a great movie. The cast is wonderful. The writing is very good, the camera work is very good. I am not a big fan of Steven Spielburg, but he is not a problem for me. And I believe that he is really good at directing, because it is so much better than "The Sixth Sense" and "Mama". The only thing I would like to say is that it is not a good movie to watch if you are suffering from headaches, because it will make you really sad. But, it is not a bad movie, it is a very good movie, so, I am recommending it to everyone. It is a movie to watch with your family and with friends. But, I would like to say that it is also a movie to watch with your girlfriend and with your girlfriend's friend. And you should watch it with them too, because this is really a good movie. I give it a 10/10!

OK. Some people like to have a "baggage" with their reviews. It is easy to see where they went wrong. I have to say that I'm a "2" and a "1" reviewer. This film was a dream. The colors were off-the-scale, the story line was strong, the characters were great. I was the only person in the theatre who left thinking "that was one hell of a ride". I would give it a 10/10 just for that. Not everyone will be a fan of that. I would say it is a nice change from the formulaic Hollywood "Shakespeare in Love" or "The Shawshank Redemption" type of film. This film is not about Hollywood. I would say that it is a nice "vibe" film. This film was definitely the best movie I have seen in a very long time. The story line was unique and captivating. I was always wanting to know more about the characters. The music was amazing, it was very "psychedelic". The art direction was superb. I really wanted to be in the movie. I was totally engrossed in every scene. It is not about the "hype" or what the critics say. It is a film that really deserves the praise it received. If you haven't seen it, do it, you will not regret it.

A famous actress (Irene Carstensen) has her best friend (Roddy McDowell) kidnapped by a mysterious man (Michael Madsen). What's the movie about? The plot is very similar to the original Night of the Living Dead (1968), but not as well executed. The story is also a bit dull in the beginning, but picks up in the middle. This is a good movie for the horror fans, but it is not as good as Romero's film.

For this film, I was expecting the most horrific ending imaginable. The film was indeed not as bad as I expected it to be. For a small town, it had a surprisingly good cast, and an excellent acting job by everyone. The twist at the end is predictable, but still worth the wait. The plot is actually pretty good, and the action sequences were quite well done. I'm a big fan of the original film, and I have to admit that I liked this one better. If you liked the original, you'll like this one too. If you are not a fan of the original, you might find the film disappointing.
